Janea J. Hawkins, an attorney with the DC Region Office of Jackson Lewis P.C. is a passionate advocate for her clients, representing them in state and federal court, arbitrations, audits, investigations, and before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, DOL, and state human rights agencies. Janea has a proven track record of helping employers reduce workplace risk and manage legal costs by preventing and resolving disputes with their employees. Janea also has experience advising employers on employee manuals, policies, and also on drafting and negotiating employment contracts, including separation agreements and non-compete agreements. Janea, also a member of Jackson Lewis’s Workplace Training Group and Corporate Diversity Counseling Group, conducts trainings on various employment law topics to HR professionals, senior leadership, in-house attorneys, managers and employees. Janea is a frequent speaker before human resource organizations, industry and bar associations on employment-related topics, as well as mentoring, career advancement and self-care. Janea also provides pro bono legal services as a volunteer attorney with the Children’s Law Center and United States District Court Mediation Program. Janea is a proud member of the DCSHRM Chapter’s Programs and Professional Development Committee, national Mentoring Co-Chair for the American Bar Association’s Judicial Intern Opportunities Program, and Past President of the National Bar Association’s Greater Washington Area Chapter (“GWAC”).
